Volkswagen has moved on three fronts this October: its first electric Tiguan now has prices in Spain, a saloon developed with Xpeng has gone on sale in China, and the brand’s CEO has hinted at the future of the ID. Buzz. Here are the key figures for each, and what they mean if you are thinking of changing car.

ID. Tiguan: the ID.4’s successor now has prices
The Volkswagen ID. Tiguan replaces the ID.4 and will be built in Emden, Germany. Pre-orders in Spain open in October and, according to Motor.es, the first cars should reach dealers early next year.
ID. Tiguan range in Spain
- Match: from €43,352, 190 hp motor, 58 kWh LFP battery and 425 km WLTP.
- 286 hp version: 77 kWh battery and 580 km WLTP.
- 4Motion: twin motors, 299 hp and 565 km WLTP.
- Trim levels: Match, Life and Style; R-Line will follow later.
The Match is the entry point to the range, with the 58 kWh LFP battery, while the 77 kWh version offers the longest range. Published prices do not include discounts or promotions, so the final price may vary by dealer. Prices are for Spain and in euros.
Pre-orders in October and first deliveries early next year, according to Motor.es.
ID. UNYX 09: 5C charging and 5.08 metres, for now only in China
The ID. UNYX 09 is a 5.08-metre electric saloon developed with Xpeng that has been on sale in China since 24 October. It has a battery of around 92 kWh (LFP) and, according to Volkswagen, can recover the equivalent of 250 km of range in five minutes of charging.
ID. UNYX 09 in numbers
- Length: 5.08 m.
- Battery: LFP, around 92 kWh.
- 5C charging: the equivalent of 250 km in 5 minutes, according to Volkswagen.
- Range: up to 755 km on the Chinese CLTC cycle (rear-wheel-drive version).
- Price: from 179,900 yuan, around €23,300 at the direct exchange rate.
Read these figures with care: the CLTC cycle is more optimistic than the European WLTP, so the 755 km cannot be compared with the ID. Tiguan’s numbers. The direct-exchange price also excludes European taxes and import costs, so it is not what the car would cost in Europe if it ever arrived. For now, Volkswagen sells it only in China.

ID. Buzz: a cheaper second generation
According to comments by Thomas Schäfer, Volkswagen’s CEO, reported by Autopista, the ID. Buzz has not so far met its sales expectations, but it will get a second generation. That generation would arrive in 2030 at the earliest, on the new SSP platform and with LFP batteries to cut costs.
Today the ID. Buzz starts at €52,770 in Spain. LFP batteries to lower costs are the same chemistry already used in the ID. Tiguan and the ID. UNYX 09.
